Four Years of Progress for Willowdale

Listening first. Delivering results.

Over the past 4 years, we've built new ways for Willowdale residents to shape decisions where they live, including Spaghetti Town Halls, Participatory Budgeting, the Willowdale Action Hub, and regular surveys and consultations. Weekly updates kept residents informed and community festivals and arts celebrated who we are. That foundation of a connected community is what made the results below possible.

Responsible Growth
Matching infrastructure to growth

  • Secured 2 new community spaces (20,000 sq ft at 45-47 Sheppard Ave E; 4,200 sq ft at 5220 Yonge)

  • Negotiated better resident benefits through development

  • Shaped North York Centre planning with resident input

  • Increased visitor parking to fit North York's needs

Safer & Thriving Neighbourhoods
Improved safety & infrastructure

  • Boosted community and road safety: Neighbourhood Watch, Yonge St. Foot Patrol, Safety Town Halls

  • Backed police hiring plan that cut emergency response times and addressed intimate partner violence

  • Invested in Smart Signals, traffic calming, and resident-led transportation fixes

  • Funded parks, dog parks, playgrounds, schoolyards, and programs for seniors, families, and youth

A Vibrant Economy
A thriving downtown North York

  • Supported local businesses and the Yonge North BIA

  • Protected employment opportunities in North York Centre

  • Pushed investment in North York Centre as a key Toronto economic corridor

  • Brought more festivals and events to Willowdale

Innovation for a Better City
A smarter city for better results

  • Advanced Smart Poles, Smart Signals, AI road monitoring, automatic noise enforcement

  • Led a Toronto delegation to the Smart City Summit

  • Championed climate action: bike rides, Eco-Fairs, Willowdale Repair Cafe, Climate Action Roundtables

Thank you for helping build a stronger, safer, more vibrant, connected Willowdale. Our best work is still ahead of us.
